Convicted: Broke into an Animal Shelter, then tortured and killed a cat, kidnapped several other cats.

Sentence: Edward's, plea-bargained for no jail time and in November 1995 was placed on probation and ordered to attend weekly therapy.

Almost 2 years later, when Edward's went to trial for a subsequent shoplifting arrest, the Alameda County Probation Office discovered that he had missed half of his therapy appointments and had not seen a therapist for 3 months.
