Two boys, both 13, were arrested on Oct 25 after Battle Creek police allege they stole a dog and were using it for dog fighting. Another 13-year-old boy was playing with his Sheltie mix, Snoopy, in his backyard in the first block of Jericho Road about 4:30 p.m. when several people approached him and asked if he wanted to fight his dog. When the victim said no, he told police the dog was taken. Police found several young people a few doors away and they said they found the dog. The two young men were arrested on a charge of larceny, and the Sheltie was returned.
