Authorities have confiscated about 300 roosters from a Palm Beach County barn and accused the birds' owner of keeping poultry for cockfighting. All the roosters were euthanized.

Maui Temaui says authorities are mistaken about his birds being game roosters. Temaui is a former actor who had a supporting role in the 1981 film "Beyond the Reef." He says he raises chickens to feed the poor.

Temaui was also charged in June with using his animals for cockfighting. He says authorities took all his chickens away, and he is going to fight the charges in court.
