A client whose cat was brought to Dr. Evan Mitchell Blair's animal clinic allegedly died from not being treated for bladder stones.

The cat's owner alleges that Blair did not keep records of the type, or amount, of anesthetic given, the type or amount of subcutaneous fluid administered, .5cc dexamethasone was administered but no concentration, route of administration nor explanation was documented. A blood Urea Nitrogen test was performed and the state and other Veterinarians have confirmed that this type of test does not identify the renal damage or assess the response to therapy. Dr Evan Blair did not document the results in the medical records. The cat's owner claims that Blair discharged the cat without instructions or follow up care.

The cat's owner states she took the cat to an overnight emergency clinic where she alleges she was advised to have abdominal x-rays taken. The cat was re-admitted but the owner states that Blair did not note any examination or evaluation in the records. The cat's owner further alleges that Blair only noted the cat's appetite and that oral antibacterials should be given, but made no note of the deteriorating health , condition or response to treatment in the records.

The cat's owner states that Blair's practice claims that it offers 24 hour emergency care, but provides no overnight attendance by staff for the animals housed there.

A civil court date has been set for July 17, 2006 at 10:30am at the county court in Broward county.
