Council Bluffs police arrested a man on suspicion of animal abuse after officers found his dog dead in a plastic bag.

Terry Robbins, 27, told police that his friend killed his dog after it attacked him. The dog was found on an outdoor deck at Cottonwood Apartments, and officers were called to the complex to check out a foul odor. Inside the apartment, they found blood and dog hair sticking to several pieces of electrical tape. Officers also found three loaded guns and a small amount of marijuana.

Robbins did not live in the apartment, police said.
