On March 31, 2006, the Thompson family's sheltie, Mickey died from poisoning, the third incident in a rash of animal cruelty cases in Bartlett that police say are probably unrelated. After an examination, the vet said Mickey's blood analysis showed all the classic signs of anti-freeze poisoning, including critically high levels of sodium and calcium.

Because of geographical distance, modus operandi and other factors, police don't think the current rash of animal cruelty incidents are related. However, BPD is continuing to receive leads on the Bartlett Crimestopper hotline.

Note: Classifications and other fields should not be used to determine what specific charges the suspect is facing or was convicted of - they are for research and statistical purposes only. The case report and subsequent updates outline the specific charges. Charges referenced in the original case report may be modified throughout the course of the investigation or trial, so case updates, when available, should always be considered the most accurate reflection of charges.
