The Thompson family says strange things are happening to the dogs in their neighborhood. Their first dog was poisoned to death in 2001. In that same week, a second dog next door went missing. A third dog was found dead, also of poisoning.

"He'd give me kisses on the face. He'd always put his head on my shoulder. He loved to be petted on his head," says Joyce Thompson remembering her 6 year-old Sheltie. "The last thing I said to him before I left for work was 'Mama loves you, be a good boy now'," Thompson says.

Thompson never imagined that morning would be the last time she would ever see her dog alive. "He was just stiff and he looked at me like he didn't even know me and I was just like, 'what's wrong'," says Nikki Thompson.

Tom and his daughter Nikki rushed their dog to the vet but it was too late. They took him home so he could die where he was comfortable. "To see my lil' dog there laboring to breath and knowing that he's not going to make it," Thompson says. "This is my brother, I went through pain. I've had happy times with him and he's been a wonderful dog." The vet told the Thompsons their pet died of poisoning. He ingested ethylene glycol, the same ingredient found in antifreeze.
