Patricia Tarries, of 105 N. 132nd Street, had about 110 animals, mostly cats, removed from her property on Thursday by the Nebraska Humane Society. An anonymous complaint tipped the humane society to the problem existing in the home.

Twenty or more of the cats removed from Tarries' home had to be euthanized because they were so dehydrated and malnourished. There was animal feces caked on the floors of the house, three dead cats were found inside the home.

It was stated, "She (the owner) would pop a can of cat food and throw it in a room. The stronger, healthier ones are going to get the food, and the other ones are going to starve."

One animal had a dangerously low body temperature, another one couldn't stand on its own.

All the animals have been removed from the home, Tarries has been ordered out of the house until it is cleaned. The city might condemn the house if no progress on cleaning it is made in the next 30 days.

The humane society hopes to be able to save most of the cats and have them adopted into good homes.
