Police have arrested a Belleville man on animal cruelty charges more than 7 months after the animals were taken from his care. Nine dogs and two cats were taken from the Lee Creek Road home of 71-year old Clyde Todd in August 2005.

A Wood County Sheriff's Deputy says the dogs were malnourished, two of them to the point that the ribs were sticking out. They were turned over to the Parkersburg Humane Society.

Some of them have been adopted since the rescue.

Mr. Todd was released March 29, 2006 on bond.
