Katherine Bondy, 22, of Killeen, Texas, left her 5-year old collie-retriever mix in her Jeep for about one hour while she was inside BD's Mongolian Barbecue. She is charged with misdemeanor animal cruelty after her dog died while left in her Jeep in the restaurant parking lot.

Bondy told police she left the vinyl windows in the Jeep partially unzipped while she was in the restaurant. Other witnesses said the vehicle was completely sealed.
Traverse City temperatures that afternoon were 81 degrees with 67 percent humidity. This created a heat index of 84 degrees according to the National Weather Service.
Bondy faces up to 93 days in jail, a $1,000 fine and up to 200 hours of community service if she is convicted. No arraignment date has been scheduled. Neighborhood MapFor more information about the Interactive Animal Cruelty Maps, see the map notes.
