A woman was arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty after she allegedly killed a tank of exotic fish during a fight with her husband, authorities said.

Susan Goselin, 34, is accused of dumping a box of Clorox powdered bleach into a 300-gallon salt water tank filled with tropical fish, killing all seven inside, Contra Costa County Sheriff's spokesman Jimmy Lee said.

She could face a year in jail and a $20,000 fine if convicted.

She and her husband, Garth Goselin, 39, were arrested Feb 3 after deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call at their home.

Garth Goselin was arrested on suspicion of tampering with a phone line and a car, Lee said.

He allegedly ripped the cords out of the home's telephones and tampered with the couple's cars to prevent his wife from calling for help or leaving the residence, Lee said.

Both posted bail Feb 4 and were released from the Martinez Detention Facility, Lee said.
