Police photographed scars on a pair of Bessemer pit bulls. Police said the scars are the result of fierce pit fighting. In fact, one of the dogs had a fresh wound on its front left leg.
"While the officers were here, they discovered a few dogs in the back that had scars like they had been used in dog fights," said Bessemer police Sgt. Hank Edwards. The dogs were kept chained up in a fenced-in back yard. The two pit bulls were confiscated by the animal rescue group Tears.
