Two people are in custody in connection with the theft of three English bulldog puppies during the week of August 23, 2005. The puppies were taken last week from a Mesa home.

Sheriff's deputies yesterday arrested Sarah Cass and Joseph Adams, both of Apache Junction. The pair was booked into the Fourth Avenue Jail. Both face charges of second-degree burglary, a Class 3 felony.

Investigators said the puppies that were taken are quite valuable. The puppies have since been returned to their own, a Valley breeder, and are doing fine.
