The U.S. Department of Agriculture and Alex Chambers, a licensed animal dealer doing business as Road Runner Pets and Supplies in Carnesville, Ga., have agreed to a consent decision and order regarding violations of the Animal Welfare Act.

Chambers agreed to a permanent license suspension and disqualification from operating under the AWA.

Chambers neither admitted nor denied any violations of the AWA but agreed to a civil penalty of $4,000. Of that fine, $3,500 is suspended provided there are no future violations of the AWA for 20 years. This is in addition to a permanent license suspension and disqualification.
