More than two dozen pit bulls, some with gashes and cuts on their faces, were seized from a home on the Charleston County sea island of John's Island. Police charged their owner, Ronald Adams, with 26 counts of improper care of animals, a misdemeanor.
Police said many dogs were on heavy chains inside a rickety fence. Confiscated items included a treadmill and videotapes of dog fighting, said sheriff's Lt. Mike Benton.
Adams was cited in April when the sheriff's office seized six dogs. Adams signed over custody of the dogs and paid restitution. References« SC State Animal Cruelty Map « More cases in Charleston County, SC
