In Sept 2005, Soll was sentenced to two years probation and ordered to pay the Humane Society more than $5,000 for vet bills and boarding. That followed the discovery of neglected horses on his property in February. One horse had to be put down and Humane Society officials say it was one of the worst cases of horse neglect in the Omaha area. Soll pleaded guilty to two counts of neglect in Sept. In exchange, 13 other charges against him were dropped.
