Puppy put in plastic bag, thrown into stream
Windsor, CT (US)

Incident Date: Thursday, May 2, 2002
County: Hartford

Disposition: Alleged

Alleged: John Bouchard

A state trooper rescued an abandoned puppy after a man placed the dog in a bag and threw it in a stream. John Bouchard, 52, of South Windsor faces animal cruelty charges.

A trooper said Wednesday that he saw Bouchard throw a bag in a stream near Bradley International Airport. The trooper heard cries coming from the bag, which was floating down the stream. He retrieved the soggy, but unharmed, pooch. The man said he thought that the puppy was already dead. The puppy was reunited with its mother.
