Stonelick, Ohio resident George Goodin was recently sentenced to 30 days in jail and ordered to pay a $300 fine and perform 30 hours of community service for cutting off the tails of four Labrador Retriever puppies in his home.

Goodin, who said he cut off the dogs' tails because they were knocking things off of a table, also was placed on probation for four years and prohibited from owning domestic animals until he has successfully completed his probation.

All of the puppies were successfully treated at the Eastgate Animal Hospital in Union, OH and have been adopted.
