more information on voting
When you vote, you are voting on whether or not the punishment fit the crime, NOT on the severity of the case itself. If you feel the sentence was very weak, you would vote 1 star. If you feel the sentence was very strong, you would vote 5 stars.
Please vote honestly and realistically. These ratings will be used a a tool for many future programs, including a "Peoples Choice" of best and worst sentencing, DA and judge "report cards", and more. Try to resist the temptation to vote 1 star on every case, even if you feel that 100 years in prison isnt enough.

Injured horse neglected Kingsport, TN (US)Incident Date: Saturday, Apr 30, 2005 County: Sullivan
Disposition: Convicted
Defendant/Suspect: Clarence McCrary
A Kingsport man is serving a 45-day jail sentence after a judge found him guilty of cruelty to a horse with a broken leg. Clarence McCrary told police he didn't know how the horse became injured.
When police responded to a call about an abandoned horse in May, they found the young horse chained to a tree. Authorities say the animal had grazed all of the grass it could reach and had been left with no water.
Sergeant Jenny Abernathy says McCrary first said he had a veterinarian look at the horse, but later admitted the animal had not been examined.
Abernathy says a vet summoned by authorities determined the horse should be destroyed because of its injuries.
Judge Steven Jones convicted McCrary on Aug 19 and sentenced him to six months in jail, suspending all but 45 days. References« TN State Animal Cruelty Map « More cases in Sullivan County, TN
