Two men will be spending time in jail after they tied up a cat, tossed it into a canal and took turns throwing rocks at it. On Aug 3, Damion Ritchie and Shane Mott pleaded no contest to animal cruelty after being arrested and held without bond the day before. According to Lauderhill police, the men told them that they were "bored and had nothing else to do," and that's why they abused the cat.

An eyewitness called 911 after he said he watched the men throw the cat "as far as they could into the lake," and then taking turns throwing rocks and even a car stereo at it.

The cat was taken to Pet Emergency at 7101 University Drive in Tamarac to see if it will survive the abuse. As of late Wednesday, there was no word on the condition of the cat.

The judge sentenced Ritchie and Mott to 10 days in jail, six months probation and a 13-week of anger management program.
