Donald Blake, 36, pleaded guilty to drop kicking his cat last December. Blake will serve six months in jail and must pay "Gizmo's" medical bills. This is Blake's second conviction for animal cruelty.

A witness told the police he saw Blake drop kick the cat outside a Laconia building.

When a jury trial was scheduled for May, Blake agreed to a plea bargain agreement.

Blake must pay the gray and white neutered male's medical bills which total $1,834.

Gizmo is in a foster home and will probably be adopted by the people who are looking after him.

Barbara Bonsignore, president of the New Hampshire Animal Rights League, said she is happy with the stiff sentence. She said, "When people become aware of animal abuses, there's a cry from everybody in the town. It's gotten so bad that some people have been run out of town."
