Sophia a year old black and white cat was shot on October 22 either with a high powered air rifle or a .22 caliber firearm. The bullet traveled through her upper muzzle, lower jaw and throat before it was lodged in her rib cage.
Christine and Philip Lowe, Sophia's owners, hope the reward will lead to the arrest of the person who commited what Philip has called "a cruel and heartless act."
Sophia is recovering and active even though the bullet is still lodged in her rib cage.
The Humane Society agrees and that's why they are offering a reward leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for shooting Sophia.
The state law allows a prison term of up to one year and a fine of $1,000 for anyone convicted of animal cruelty. If you have information on this case, please contact: Humane Society of United States
