On August 11 police were called to the Auburn Mobile Home Park after maintenance workers found a burned cat corpse inside the microwave oven. The corpse was wrapped in a paper towel and placed on a plate.

The investigators said the microwave had been in operation for an extended period of time rendering much of the remains unrecognizable. The trailer was filled with smoke when maintenance workers had arrrived.

Tom Gaffney, the first Auburn police officer to arrive at the scene said he'd never seen anything like it in his thirty years in law enforcement.

Gaffney said, "Everything except the head was destroyed. Either this is a case of revenge or else we have a real, real mean person in that area."

The investigation of the current resident of the trailer and two recent house guests has been conducted. No arrests have been made as of Tuesday afternoon.
