Pam Hyslop scheduled for arraignment May 28 on charges which include cruelty to animals. Her dog, a 2-year old Chihuahua mix, was euthanized as a result of its injuries, according to a spokesman at the New Haven police animal control office.

Police happened upon the dog while investigating a dispute at her residence. While there the officer observed the small dog in the dirt lot next door. The dog was emaciated and its paws were raw from dragging them.

Officer determined the dog had been struck by a car several months ago and had not received any medical attention. Dog was removed and taken to New Haven Central Hospital for Veterinary Medicine where it had to be put down.
