Kitten mutilated, killed

Defendant/Suspect: Kristopher C. Bower

Kristopher Bower, 21, accused of mutilating a kitten pleaded guilty to animal cruelty. He faces penalties of up to $750 and 90 days in jail when he is sentenced Aug 27 on the misdemeanor.

Police said Bower cut off a kitten's front paws before trying to feed it to his pet snake on July 21. Bower didn't want the cat to scratch the snake, police said. The snake ignored the cat, and Bower cut the kitten's head off to relieve its pain.
