Walter Lee Mason Jr, 41, convicted of beating his mixed-chow dog with pieces of plastic pipe and wood that fractured the dog's foot.

Sentenced to 60 days in jail, given two year's probation and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine and $1,000 for his public defender.

Deupties found Mason standing next to the small, crying dog, which had lacerations on its severely swollen front legs. The dog recovered and has since been placed in a new home.
