On April 22, 1996, Eddie Webster pled guilty to a charge of felony animal cruelty. He was sentenced to serve six additional months in the Pasco County Jail, followed by three years probation. He was also ordered to pay $2,300 in restitution.
The small, mixed-breed dog sustained injuries indicative to severe burn. The dog sustained third degree burns over 30% of its body, concentrated in the groin, both hind legs and stomach. An eyewitness said he saw the little dog on fire, running down the street. Some witnesses said a guy threw something on the dog and it lit up.
A bench warrant was issued for the arrest of the suspect and in April of 1994 Eddie Webster was stopped for a trafic violation in a nearby county. A routine check revealed the warrant and he was promptly arrested. Neighborhood MapFor more information about the Interactive Animal Cruelty Maps, see the map notes.
