James Wayne Joiner received 30 days in jail and a bill for almost $1,100 for his conviction of shooting and killing Rottweiler pet of his neighbor. Joiner with three prior felony convictions from 1969 was found guilty of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and misdemeanor cruelty to animals. Bibb County jury found him innocent of the more serious charge of criminal damage to property. Joiner received five years on probation for the gun charge and another 30 days in jail on the misdemeanor.
