Two pets have reportedly been killed and skinned in a Peoria neighborhood over the past two weeks.

According to Peoria police, on May 16, 2004, a cat owner reported discovering his cat behind his home in the area of 83rd Avenue and Beardsley Road. Two days later, in the area of 99th Avenue and Union Hills Drive, a dog was reportedly killed and skinned in the back yard of his owner's home.

Peoria officers are warning residents about these incidents and advising them to contact Peoria police if they have seen anything suspicious.

The police department also urges pet owners to padlock any gates to their yards if their pets must be left outdoors.
