A Camden, Ohio, couple has been charged with stealing two of four horses taken from farms and sold at auction.

A Clermont County grand jury on Wednesday indicted Steven Lee Hall, 26, and Amee L. Burton, 33, of Camden, on two counts each of grand theft and one count each of breaking and entering.

They are accused of taking two Arabian mares from a farm owned by Tim and Diane Waechter on Nov. 28, 2002. in Goshen Township.

Two Tennessee walking horses were taken Dec. 5, 2002, from a farm near Waynesville in Warren County.

Burton and Hall are under investigation in those thefts, but no charges have yet been filed.

The horses were found through an auction in Shipshewana, Ind., near Fort Wayne. They were returned to their owners.

The investigation of the Goshen theft led to Hall after police discovered that he had signed paperwork at the auction putting the four horses up for sale Nov. 29, 2002, and Dec. 6, 2002, authorities said.

One of the horses taken from the Waechter farm was found last weekend with a Michigan couple who had bought the 17-year-old mare from a horse auction in Indiana for a 4-H project for their three daughters.

The other stolen horses were found in Kentucky and Indiana
