Current, 15, of Tarpon Springs are charged with felony animal cruelty. They also face one count each of misdemeanor trespassing. After beating of Phil, a 4-month-old Yorkshire cross. Phil was attacked with a garden hoe and a cinder block in his pen overnight.

Both teens were in custody Tuesday December 9, 2003  And Phil was returned to his pen at the school Monday December 8, 2003 after treatment at a veterinary facility.

Shortly after the attack,it was said that they hoped the animal's attackers would be caught so they get some help because it's not normal for someone to do this and doesn't want them doing this again, or having this lead to their hurting people.''

Since the incident, Phil has been adopted  by a family who will keep him as a pet.
