Forsyth County Animal Control officers arrested Jason Eugene Johnson, 20, of Cumming Aug. 6 for killing a kitten at a storage facility on Maple Valley Drive. Johnson arrived at the facility July 26 to retrieve the kitten but alledgedly became angry when the kitten escaped his grasp and ran underneath the vehicle.
An employee at the storage facility told the responding officer, Johnson took the kitten from underneath the truck and "smashed it several times onto the driveway before placing it in a black trash bag. Johnson then left the scene in a maroon Chevrolet S-10 Blazer.
Johnson is charged with cruelty to animals and was released on a $1,000 bond. If convicted of the crime he could face up to five years in prison, according to state law. Neighborhood MapFor more information about the Interactive Animal Cruelty Maps, see the map notes.
