11 dogs seized, 2 puppies dead
Oklahoma City, OK (US)

Incident Date: Monday, Oct 25, 2010
County: Oklahoma

Disposition: Alleged

Alleged: Nicole Ross

A woman in Southeast Oklahoma City could be facing serious charges after investigators found two dead dogs in her backyard.

After receiving an anonymous tip, animal welfare officers found several puppies that appeared be malnourished along with four other adult dogs at 817 SE 68th Street. Their food and water bowls allegedly were empty.

Investigators also discovered the bodies of two puppies that died earlier in the week.

Once on scene, the homeowner Nicole Ross was given several citations and claims her parents were taking care of the pets before walking away from our cameras.

Although Ross didn't want to talk, her mother-in-law claims the dead puppies were attacked by another dog in the neighborhood, and they were not starved.

"They had water and food (but) they spilled it their own selves. They are getting food and water," said the woman who wouldn't give her name.

Although Ross relinquished custody of the 11 dogs, she still faces several counts of animal cruelty which could result in jail time.
