A Person Street man faces a felony marijuana possession charge and cruelty to animals counts after Buffalo police K-9 officers recovered a quantity of marijuana and found more than a dozen dogs or puppies without adequate food or water, according to police.

Tommie J. Wimberly III, 33, was arrested at about 1:30 p. m. Wednesday at his residence after police found the dogs allegedly being treated inhumanely with extra heavy chains double wrapped around the necks of several adult dogs at the address and inadequate nutrition for all of the animals.

Authorities uncovered more than eight ounces of marijuana.
