A woman found with 55 cats, a parrot and six guns in her Upper Darby home allegedly pulled a gun on a police officer Friday afternoon after police responded to the Leighton Terrace address to remove the animals because of complaints from neighbors. Upper Animal Control, Pennsylvania SPCA and Delaware County SPCA were on location during the removal of animals and guns.
The woman has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. The home was condemned by Upper Darby Township Department of Health citing health code violations after removal of the animals. The cats were taken to the Delaware County SPCA where they will be examined, treated and put up for adoption. Anyone interested in adoption of the cats can contact the Delaware County SPCA.
