Animals neglected, dog found dead
Greensboro, NC (US)

Incident Date: Saturday, Aug 7, 2010
County: Guilford

Disposition: Alleged

Alleged: Angela Parks Parham Roddey

A woman was arrested Saturday on charges of animal cruelty after she allegedly failed to provide adequate food and water for her pets over a four-day period.

Angela Parks Parham Roddey, 34, of 3811 Cameron Ave., allegedly neglected and tortured the animals through "dehydration and starvation" from Aug. 2-5, according to arrest warrants. The animals included five dogs, four birds, two ferrets, one cat, four guinea pigs, one rabbit, one degu and one chinchilla.

Greensboro Police Officer G. Cottonard said he and another officer found one dead dog at the residence.

"I can't say at what point they ran out of food or water," he said. "There was insufficient food and water."

Roddey was issued a secured bond of $10,000 and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 15.
