Over 40 mummified snakes found abandoned
Louisville, KY (US)

Incident Date: Friday, Aug 6, 2010
County: Jefferson

Disposition: Alleged

Alleged: Jeff McClure

The News and Tribune reported 42 dead snakes were found in a home on Longfellow drive.

A conservation officer made the discovery when the department was called to investigate.

The non-poisonous milk snakes and ball pythons had mummified.

All were in cages with shelves on top to prevent them from getting out. Power to the home was shut off.

The tenant, 54-year-old Jeff McClure was evicted from the home July 29.

McClure was last seen leaving in a taxi cab with his dog.

He is now wanted for questioning and could face animal cruelty charges.

Anyone who has seen McClure is asked to contact the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
