Dog shot to death
Dover, MN (US)

Incident Date: Saturday, Sep 26, 2009
County: Olmsted

Disposition: Open

Suspect(s) Unknown - We need your help!

Olmsted County authorities are investigating the shooting death of a dog in a kennel in the backyard of a Dover home.

Sheriff Det. Lee Rossman said deputies were called about 6:30 p.m. Saturday by a neighbor who heard gunfire, then went outside and noticed a dog in a kennel was dead.

Rossman said the kennel was in the backyard of a home in the 300 block of East Center Street in Dover. The homeowner was not home at the time, Rossman said, and has not yet been interviewed. The slain dog was in the kennel with two other dogs. They were not injured.

Rossman said a neighbor heard a gunshot, went outside and saw the dogs barking. When the neighbor took a closer look, he noticed one of the dogs was dead. That is when he called 911. There are no suspects.
