Animal control crews have removed six dogs from a home in Bothell in an investigation of animal cruelty.
The woman living in the home surrendered the dogs to county animal control officers.
A neighbor first reported questionable conditions and a large number of animals at the home to the King County Animal Care and Control July 31.
"They had matted fur and it was clear that they had not had veterinary care," said Christine Lange. They also had not been let outside.
Lange calls this a case of animal hoarding and says the woman will get mental health counseling.
The agency has been working with the county's sheriff's office and public health department to obtain search warrants and evidence, and to find homes for the animals removed from the house.
The woman may face animal cruelty charges. References |
