The Farmington Police have arrested a man who they say broke into a home and abused a dog inside.
Christopher Bagwell, 26 of Mannington, is charged with nighttime burglary, a felony and animal cruelty, a misdemeanor.
On July 8, police were called to a home on Wiley Street, after a friend of the homeowner noticed the front door was open while the homeowner was at work.
According to the criminal complaint, when the friend looked inside the house, she saw Bagwell engaged in sexual intercourse with the homeowner's dog.
Bagwell had gone through the home and its gun cabinet, as well, the complaint says.
Bagwell was arrested over the weekend and is now free on bond.

Mannington resident Christopher Adam Bagwell was formally charged with nighttime burglary and felony animal cruelty for the July 13, 2008 incident. Marion Assistant Prosecutor Jeff Freeman said Bagwell, who was indicted in October, pleaded guilty to the animal-cruelty charge before Judge David R.
