more information on voting
When you vote, you are voting on whether or not the punishment fit the crime, NOT on the severity of the case itself. If you feel the sentence was very weak, you would vote 1 star. If you feel the sentence was very strong, you would vote 5 stars.
Please vote honestly and realistically. These ratings will be used a a tool for many future programs, including a "Peoples Choice" of best and worst sentencing, DA and judge "report cards", and more. Try to resist the temptation to vote 1 star on every case, even if you feel that 100 years in prison isnt enough.

Boston terrier stomped and beaten to death New York City, NY (US)Incident Date: Tuesday, Jan 1, 2008 County: New York
Charges: Misdemeanor Disposition: Convicted
Defendant/Suspect: Tafik Habib
A banker who admitted stomping and beating his landlord's Boston terrier to death has been jailed on misdemeanor animal cruelty charges.
Tafik Habib, who's 40, began a six-day jail sentence Wednesday. He pleaded guilty in November to torturing and injuring an animal.
He admitted to the court he kicked the 15-pound, 3-year-old Boston terrier and beat her with an umbrella in January 2008 in his landlord's Upper West Side apartment.
The terrier, Sasha, had a litter of 7-week-old puppies.
Sasha's owner, Elefterios Bonaros wept in court Wednesday, cursed Habib and said he wanted him to "rot in hell."
Habib said nothing in court. His lawyer Earl Ward said Habib was sorry it happened. References« NY State Animal Cruelty Map « More cases in New York County, NY
