Troy Police have arrested a city man for leaving his dog outside during the extreme cold temperatures.
Police say Vernon Nix, 34, of 153 9th St., left his pit bull outside overnight causing the dog to suffer from severe brain damage due to hypothermia and was emaciated.
Nix was charged with failing to provide sustenance.
Police remind residents that they must provide warm shelter, food and clean water for the pets, and anyone who doesn't will be arrested. References |
