Two dogs neglected, one euthanized Wenona, IL (US)Incident Date: Thursday, Nov 27, 2008 County: Marshall
Disposition: Alleged
Alleged: Anthony G. Lynch
Charged with the Class A misdemeanor by State's Attorney Paul Bauer was Anthony G. Lynch, 24, of 210 N. Hickory St. in Wenona.
Lynch's arrest stemmed from an investigation in late November, when Wenona police were called to his residence by reports that two dogs in a fenced-in area filled with feces were not being fed. One of them, a pit bull, was badly emaciated, had labored breathing and was too weak to move, according to a police report, while the other was still able to eat.
Both dogs were removed, and the pit bull had to be euthanized, said Sherri Coghill, who was contacted in her role as director of The ARK animal shelter in Lacon. But the other dog, a smaller terrier mix, recovered and was adopted after a picture and story were published in a local paper, Coghill said. References |
