Charges: Misdemeanor Disposition: Alleged
Alleged: Michael Goodwin
Upcoming Court Dates: » Tuesday, May 20, 2008
Michael Goodwin is scheduled to appear in Carmel Town Court on May 20 in connection with an October 2007 animal cruelty misdemeanor charge, a court employee said. The case involved leaving two dogs - an Irish setter and a Shih Tzu mix - malnourished and in unsanitary conditions in the house on Tea Kettle Spout Road in Mahopac where the family previously lived. Police said at the time there were also three kittens in the home, and Goodwin failed to provide food or water to any of the animals.
According to local news, Michael Goodwin drove for months with only one car seat although he had two young children in his car. The third child, who asked not be identified, is 11.
A review of state Motor Vehicle records shows that Michael Goodwin's driver's license has been suspended until May 2010 for failure to appear in court twice for lapsed insurance and driving without a seat belt. References« NY State Animal Cruelty Map
