Cheyenne police are investigating the deaths of two dogs, including one that may have been shot, at neighboring homes.

Police say the deaths may be related because of the fact that the dogs lived at homes so close together and that both deaths were just a day apart.

A 4-month-old dachshund was found dead by its owners on Wednesday, and a 6-month-old chocolate Lab was found dead Thursday at his owners' home across the alley from the first home.

Police said they believe the first dog had been shot. They're still trying to determine the cause of death for the second dog.
