A former K-9 cop is up against animal cruelty charges. Police got a tip Robert Boles buried a dog in his back yard. They dug-up the dog, and had experts examine the carcass. Experts later determined how they believe the animal died.   The dog was healthy up until the time of its death. Their opinion is that the dog suffered a painful death of starvation.

Pat Long finds homes for rescued animals.  Boles adopted a couple of her dogs and now she's worried.

Long said "It bothers your conscience because we placed the animals there  We have about 14 on our list that it's up in the air where are they".

Boles faces 3 animal cruelty charges, each carrying 1 thousand dollar fines and jail time. He is scheduled for an appearance in Wicomico County District Court on May 21.

Boles is now facing accusations from two women who say the former Wicomico sheriff's deputy violated their pet adoption agreement.

During a civil hearing Monday at the Wicomico County District Court, the women said they were concerned that the dogs they gave to Boles met the same fate as the Doberman pincher he is accused of starving to death.
