A man remains in custody at Tulare County Main Jail today after a shooting incident Wednesday morning in Woodlake in which a kitten was killed, police reported.

Marc Irwin, 32, of Woodlake was booked Wednesday on suspicion of negligent discharge of a firearm, animal cruelty, child endangerment, improper storage of a firearm and being under the influence of a controlled substance, Woodlake police reported.

Jeremy Baker, 23, was with Irwin at the time of the 9:30 a.m. incident Wednesday in which shots were fired near Irwins home on the 100 block of South Blair Street in Woodlake, police said. However, Baker was not booked after being arrested by Woodlake police along with Irwin.

Cindy Flores, 38, and April Molinar, 23, both of Woodlake, were also arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance, but were released to a responsible party, police said.

A 5-year-old boy who was inside a vehicle near the house was also released to a family member after police discovered a loaded .22-caliber firearm was left sitting in the vehicle near the boy.
