The farmhouse at 5875 132nd Ave in Ottawa County was raided and 7 men arrested on various charges related to cockfighting.

All the men were found at the farmhouse with blood-splattered clothes.  A blood soaked fighting pit with 200 fighting roosters, 10 dead roosters and sharp metal spurs were all confiscated.

The immigrant status of the 6 men was checked.  5 of the men are suspected illegal aliens from Mexico.

The birds were put to death because they were too aggressive to be rehabilitated.

Note: Classifications and other fields should not be used to determine what specific charges the suspect is facing or was convicted of - they are for research and statistical purposes only. The case report and subsequent updates outline the specific charges. Charges referenced in the original case report may be modified throughout the course of the investigation or trial, so case updates, when available, should always be considered the most accurate reflection of charges.
