A Shih Tzu dog was shot to death Sunday after it strayed from its home. A Sandy woman found the dog in her yard after she heard it crying from inside her house just after noon, police said. The dog, shot with some type of pellet gun, had died by the time police arrived. A blood trail could be traced to nearby yard; animal control offices were investigating, police said.
