When authorities raided the home of Raechell Carr and Clifford Prout, they reportedly found treadmills and a weight-and-pulley system for canine strength. Also found was a calendar on the refrigerator that tracked dogs' training regimen leading up to "shows."

When Contra Costa County animal services officers served a search warrant on the house in 2004, they found copies of the underground "Sporting Dog Journal," research on a dog-semen cooling system, shipping lists, anabolic steroids and a cow tail on a rope for training.

"We don't know if they got (the cow tail) dead or alive," said Sgt. Terry DeCosta.

The two Richmond residents also produced hats, T-shirts and sweats bearing the name of their operation: "Cash Money Brothers."

Raechell Carr and Clifford Prout pleaded to one count each of animal cruelty and received three years' probation.
